Class 2B Licence Cost in Singapore: Full Fee Breakdown

What a Class 2B licence really costs in Singapore: every school and Traffic Police fee, a worked total for first-time passes, and how extra lessons change it.

Updated · 2 min read

The short answer: budget about S$900 to S$1,450 in driving centre and Traffic Police fees, plus riding gear. The biggest variable is how many circuit lessons you need, not which centre you choose.

Fee breakdown

The table below uses the fees published by Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC) as of October 2026, including GST. BBDC and CDC publish their own schedules with individual items a few dollars higher or lower, so use this as a planning guide and check your centre’s current list before you pay.

What a full course adds up to

Everything that is fixed (enrolment, theory, tests, simulator, test bike, expressway ride and licence) comes to about S$607. What you pay on top depends on how many practical lessons you need.

Scenario Practical lessons Approx. total (S$)
Minimum, all off-peak, every test passed first time 5 circuit + 2 road + lesson 8 923
Typical learner, off-peak 15 circuit + 5 road + lesson 8 1,381
Typical learner, peak slots 15 circuit + 5 road + lesson 8 1,429

The “typical learner” row uses SSDC’s own published average of about 15 circuit and 6 on-road sessions. It assumes the simulator is charged per module and that you pass the BTT, RTT and practical test the first time.

Costs people forget

  • Riding gear. Centres require a PSB-approved helmet, knee and elbow guards and full-finger gloves. See what to wear to lessons.
  • Retests. Failing the Traffic Police test means another S$40 test fee, another bike rental and at least one revision lesson before you can rebook.
  • Course extension. If you go past one year, an extension costs S$37.06 for six months at SSDC.
  • Online booking fees. Small per-transaction charges apply when you book through a centre’s app or website.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Class 2B licence cost in Singapore?

Expect about S$900 if you pass every stage at the minimum number of lessons, and about S$1,400 for a typical learner who repeats some circuit stages. Riding gear is extra.

Is it cheaper to book off-peak lessons?

Yes. Weekday daytime slots cost a few dollars less per lesson than evening and weekend slots. Over 20 or more lessons that adds up to around S$50.

What happens if my course expires?

Most courses are valid for one year from enrolment. You can pay for an extension (S$37.06 for six months at SSDC); otherwise you may have to re-enrol.
